Hosting of Daughter of President Tinubu in the Residence of Iranian Ambassador

At a luncheon hosted by H.E. Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nigeria at the Ambassador’s Residence H.E. welcomed Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo daughter of H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Iyaloja-General of Nigeria.

During the luncheon, the two sides exchanged views on various areas of potential cooperation between Iran and Nigeria, particularly in the economic, commercial, cultural and artistic fields. Emphasis was placed on the need to further enhance the level of economic and trade relations and increase the volume and diversity of bilateral exchanges. In this regard, it was noted that Iran and Nigeria possess complementary economic capacities and needs, and that expanded cooperation between the two countries can contribute to meeting their respective needs, creating new opportunities for business communities, and strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.

Given Mrs. Tinubu-Ojo’s activities and commitment to the empowerment of women, particular attention was also given to enhancing the role and participation of women in Nigeria’s economic and commercial sectors. Discussions further covered potential cooperation in education, experience and knowledge sharing, vocational and technical skills training, capacity building, development of specialized skills, and technology transfer. Both sides expressed their readiness to explore and pursue practical joint initiatives in these areas, with a view to empowering women, developing human capital and further deepening economic, commercial and cultural cooperation between Iran and Nigeria.
